Annette Anderson grew up in the Midwest (Ill. and Ind.) and in the 1950s attended MacMurray College, a Women’s college in central Illinois. She received her graduate degree in city planning and was the executive director of the Community Design Center (CDC) in Knoxville, Tenn., for twenty-two years. Here she discusses her work with the CDC, being on the board of the Knoxville Women’s Center, Women’s leadership and career opportunities, and working with Women’s group on rural development projects.
